There are three procedures available When a customer is inquiring about a transaction:
- Investigating the transaction – when the customer does not recognize the transaction and is uncertain they made the transaction. The credit card company requests a signed receipt from the business. when the transaction is CNP (card Non Present) the credit card company will need any information or documents you can provide in order to confirm the transaction
- Chargeback – when the customer does not recognize the transaction and claims to have not made it. The credit card company requests a signed receipt from the business. when the transaction is CNP (card Non Present) the credit card company will need any information or documents you can provide in order to confirm the transaction
- Failure to provide the goods – when the customer claims that they did make the transaction but did not receive the goods they paid for, the credit card company requests proof of delivery.
According to instructions by the credit card company, when there is a chargeback or failure to provide the goods, the transaction sum is withdrawn from the business’s account together with handling fees.
When there is a request to examine a transaction, the business has a defined period of time to respond.
If no response was received during that period,or if the response provided is not approved by the credit card company, the business is charged the transaction sum together with handling fees.
